19 senior faculty members, Principals and Vice Principals from 8 Chinmaya Colleges attended the first ever ‘Chinmaya Netritva’ leadership workshop conducted for Chinmaya Colleges from 16 to 18 August 2017 at Chinmaya Gardens, Coimbatore. In her inaugural talk, Swamini Vimalanandaji explained that the objective of the training was to motivate and prepare the participants for leadership so that Chinmaya Colleges may become the preferred colleges in their cities. She talked about the newly introduced LEEP (Life Empowerment & Enrichment Programme) and the Chinmaya Yuva Sevak Certificate Programme as programmes that Chinmaya Colleges must aggressively promote since these are the kind of differentiators that will mark them out as “Colleges with a difference”. Dr Senthil Kumaran of The Learners Confluence shared numerous examples of best practices followed in similar institutions across the country. Topics such as effective governance; TQM and its application in higher education institutions; educational processes; how to measure institutional effectiveness; and building a learning and collaborative culture were discussed in interactive sessions supported by activities, presentations and case studies. Participants acknowledged that they felt charged with ideas and conviction to bring about quantum change in their institutions. LEEP website was launched during the valedictory event which was made by dear Chinmaya family member Shri Sudhakar from Trissur and his friend Shri Ram. It was a perfect gift to the young minds of this generation.
