Nritya Sangam

Seminar on Dance EducationNritya Sangam - a seminar for Dance Education was organized by the CCMT-Education Cell from May 27th – 30th May 2011 in CIRS, Coimbatore, featured 75 delegates (mostly dance teachers) that came from 35 Chinmaya Vidyalayas, two Vision Schools and one Chinmaya College was. The interesting dance related activities broke the ice. Smt. Supriya Comundur inculcated a dance related Chinmaya Vision, Smt Uma Keshav created an appreciation for dance and Smt. Ashrita explored dance related careers. Smt Ramaa Bharadvaj, Dance Director Chinmaya Nada Bindu, analysed the Science of Signs and told lovely kathas and took us through the steps from inspiration to performance. Smt Rukmini helped design a dance related curriculum, taught choreography and performed two contrasting and scintillating performances – classical Bharatanatyam and Modern Dance - demonstrating what she spoke in her class on Indian and International dance. Smt Rita Chandran took a comprehensive look at CCE, Dr Sweta Adatia a neurologist went into our dancing brain and Yuva Veers Bharat and Srinivas quizzed us on it. Swamini Vimalanandaji connected us with God through dance. This beautiful experience left us dancing in ecstasy and making us plan out our future activities with rhythm and harmony flowing through us to our world of students around us.   We can tap or resources, We must tune our mind to this grand vision of Pujya Gurudev and We will teach dance and make a difference.
