Bal / Yuva Seva Program

To prevent Seva from being a one time activity and to help children remain with the feeling of service mindedness, they are encouraged to continue the seva activities back in their schools. This program is called the Balsevak Program. Children who enrol get to serve the society for 120 hours.

Children choose to work in the following categories:

Seva could be rendered for a minimum of 20 Hours in each category or a total of 80 hours in any one category.

Seva at Home and in the Vidyalaya are mandatory. Children render their service and submit several details like reflective questionnaires, photographs of the seva, evidences from the beneficiaries and the like. They also have to submit 5 essays on seva.

The entire portfolio is put together and shared with the Education Cell. These portfolios are evaluated and the children are provided with a detailed certificate enumerating the work done along with the number of hours utilised. All schools collaborate with the local CORD centresor Chinmaya Mission centers to continue this activity.

3678 children from 22 schools have been provided with the Balsevak certificates by the Education Cell till the end of 2024.
