CHHV Thamaraipakkam
Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda established a free Harihara Vidyalaya School in the year 1990 with a vision to cater free education to the underprivileged children of the villages. Currently children from 15 villages scanning about 3 km radius benefit from this school which is situated in Thamaraipakkam village, 40 kms Northwest of Chennai.
The school offers holistic growth through value education to the children from the rural areas nearby. Uniforms, books, bags, water bottles and all the other material required for education are provided free of cost.
The school caters to children from families below the poverty line. Majority of the children studying here are 1st generation learners. The number of girls receiving free education is 160. The school also harbours a vocational training centre which enables older children the skills for a livelihood.
The current strength of the school is 287 with 16 teachers, a principal and 3 other staff.
The school is managed by Madras Chinmaya Seva Trust.
CHHV Hindupur
Hindupur is a city in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The city is well connected by road and train. There are a number of spinning mills and a few food processing units.
The Chinmaya Harihara Vidyalaya was inaugurated in June 2014 in a campus in the town of Hindupur. The idea was to start a Vidyalaya for the Economically weak. The families of the applicants to the Vidyalaya are regularly spoken with and supported by the teachers. The families are also provided with groceries every term. The school currently has 200 children from classes 1 to 7. The school has 8 teachers and 1 headmaster. There are 4 support staff employed as well.
The school has basic amenities like classrooms and basic furniture. However the school could do with a lot of support to improve the facilities and reach out to more children in the neighbourhood. The children do not pay any fees and the entire expenses to run the school are borne by the Trust.
The school is managed by the Chinmaya Seva Trust Hyderabad.
CV Lathikata
Chinmaya Vidyalaya was established in 2004 and it is managed by the Pvt. Unaided. It is located in Rural area. It is located in Lathikata block of Sundergarh district of Orissa. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 8. The school is Co-educational and it have an attached pre-primary section. The school is N/A in nature and is not using school building as a shift-school. Odia is the medium of instructions in this school. This school is approachable by all-weather road.
The school has Private building. It has got 10 classrooms for instructional purposes. All the classrooms are in good condition. It has 2 other rooms for non-teaching activities. The school has a separate room for Head master/Teacher. The school has Pucca boundary wall. The school has 1 boys’ toilet and it is functional. and 2 girls’ toilet and it is functional. The school has a playground. The school has a library and has 1622 books in its library. The school has 5 computers for teaching and learning purposes and all are functional. The school is not having a computer aided learning lab.
The current strength of the school is 356 students and has 9 staff members including the principal. The students and teachers are from the nearby tribal villages. Most of the families of children are small farmers and do not have a regular income. Some others are drivers, some work in private companies on a temporary basis.

CV Ellayapalle
Ellayapalle is a remote village in Kadapa District which is about 27 km away from the Rajampeta Railway station. The Chinmaya Harihara Vidyalaya was established in 1986 with an objective of encouraging the villagers to send their children to the school. It was the first of its kind in Chinmaya Mission which was dedicated to create awareness in the minds of rural folk towards education.
The school currently has about 462 students out of which 75 of them are parentless and housed in the Chinmaya Ashram nearby. The other children are day scholars coming from families where parents are largely coolies who work on farms. About 30 % of the parents own small pieces of agricultural land.
The school has employed 18 teachers and 1 accountant and 4 cleaning staff. There are 2 school buses which are operational with 2 drivers and 2 attendants.
Though the children are from an economically disadvantaged background they are surely eligible for good quality education and that being the objective, the school requires good labs for hands on activities and at least one smart room for exposure to latest learning methodologies. The upgraded facilities will also enable teachers to the use of the same and an opportunity to elevate themselves.
The school is affiliated to the AP State Board and conducts classes from Nursery to class X. The medium of instruction is English and Sanskrit, Hindi and Telugu are the other languages taught in the school.
The school provides free education to some needy students.
